Austin's very own "POP ARTIST" DAWN OKORO is having her first SOLO EXHIBITION. "MUSE" is a collection of acrylic paintings based on the fashion of modern women, with an urban flare. Through Okoro’s art she hopes to be a voice in the community for children with autism.

Proceeds from Saturday’s show will benefit the "Thoughtful House Center for Children". Okoro herself knows the hardships of this disability first hand. Okoro's ten year old brother is a child of autism.

The show is for one evening only. So everyone is encouraged to come out to support this much needed cause. Show opens August 27, 2005, 6-10pm at Iron Gate Studios, 2205 E 5th Street, Austin, Texas. Interviews with the artist and a family who will benefit from the proceeds will be available from 8-10am this Thursday and Friday. Call to arrange a time.
